The Dental Technicians and Dental Prosthetists Board of Queensland is the body responsible for the registration of Dental Technicians and Dental Prosthetists in Queensland. Before a person in Queensland may practice as, or hold themselves out to be, a Dental Technician or Dental Prosthetist, he or she must first register with the Board.

The Board is the statutory authority established to enact the provisions of the Dental Technicians and Dental Prosthetists Registration Act 2001, Dental Technicians and Dental Prosthetists Registration Regulation 2002 and the Health Practitioners (Professional Standards) Act 1999.

Registration Update

In a meeting with the Chairperson on Thursday 25 June 2009 the Deputy Premier confirmed that he was committed to the ongoing registration of dental technicians in Queensland and has asked for a review of the decision which excluded dental technicians from being included in the national registration and accreditation scheme.
